Conference Championship Aftermath
(munch…munch…munch)
Mmmmm…humble pie…tastes like chicken!
Well, I don’t really have much to say after the result of the Pats/Colts game, so I’ll let reader Dana take the stage:
Dana Says:

“Hey, someone had to do it.
300+ yards for Peyton, in the largest playoff comeback in the history of the NFL.
21-3 Pats, changed to a 37-34 Colts Final.
Hows that for handling the pressure?
Heh, and yes, I’m from Indiana. Go Colts!”
Fair enough, Dana. While Peyton did have a balanced running game that helped him out, give credit where it’s due - he made multiple big-time throws when it counted, especially on that final drive, where I kept waiting for the old Peyton to show up, and he never did. He got the job done (and now I REALLY hate him for it). I’ve heard multiple radio & media personalities over the last couple of days comparing Manning to Steve Young. I think John Elway is the better match, especially if he comes through again in the Super Bowl.
(Don’t get me wrong…I still can’t stand all the TV ads, and his pouting after the Pats 1st TD was CLASSIC Manning, but he won, so I’ll shut up…for now…)
As for Tom Brady, well, let’s say this: he should absolutely be commended on his season, especially given the selection of ‘weapons’ that he had to work with. However, when crunch time came around with less than 3 minutes to play, he nearly threw a pick on a crucial 3rd down that could have ended the game, and then threw an interception to seal the Patriots fate. Just the facts, ma’m. Does that make him the new ‘Peyton’? No, not with his resume. Will he bounch back from this? Well, let’s see…last time I checked he still has a 12-2 playoff record, 3 Super Bowl rings, and is now rumored to be dating supermodel Giselle Bundchen.

If that’s true, then I’m guessing Tom should be fully recovered from yesterday’s loss by…right about now.
(He’s dating Giselle?! …I hate you, Tom Brady)
Lastly, I would like to congratulate the Indianapolis Colt fans - you couldn’t ask for a more spirited and dedicated (and dress-coordinated) group at the game (even if there was some excessive booing during the close calls by the refs - come on, guys - it’s not a consipracy, we swear). Watching them celebrate reminded me of how Red Sox fans felt after finally beating the Yankees in the playoffs in ‘04. As a fan, it doesn’t get any better than watching your team (or iconic quarterback) finally get over the hump. So congrats to Dana and the rest of the Colts faithful, and good luck in the Super Bowl.
…now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go down another bottle of Jack Daniels….

Cheers, mate. Though you may have me on a Tom Brady jealousy spree with many more pictures like that one.
