Nice Shoes…Wanna Suck?

by Brian

Sooooo many topics to discuss, so of course we’re going to get started with…a uniform issue.

Before last night’s MNF match-up between the Colts and Bengals, Chad Johnson hit the field with the following ‘I-love-myself-illustrated-montage’ shoes:

The No-Fun-League immediately informed Ocho Cinco that the footwear was non-compliant with uniform standards, and the colorful sneaks were removed before game time. So the debate has raged on throughout the day: is this taking the rules too seriously? Or should the Chaz save his self-congratulatory artwork for his own home?

I, your friendly NFL blogger, have the solution.

The NFL should have allowed Chad to wear the shoes. HOWEVER, in the event that he and his team stunk up the joint (which they did), he would have been required to wear a pair of shoes next week that were designed by the Indianapolis Colts. This would have included:

- Pictures of all three Marvin Harrison touchdowns, to remind him how a real wide receiver performs in a big game.
- A shot of him looking up at the 34-16 scoreboard, on the verge of tears.
- An image of the entire Colts secondary taking a dump on his jersey.

I think this could work. Somebody get Roger Goodell on the line!

Feel free to post your own thoughts on the Bengal shoe debate….
