Superbowl Stuff
Multiple Choice Question: Why did I not update the “Talking NFL” site for over a week?
A) I relocated to LA for a new job, and have spent the last week living out of my car & trying to get high-speed internet access in places like Kearney, Nebraska.
B) Too busy crying over my beloved Patriots losing the AFC Title Game.
C) As much as I love football, I enjoy the 2 week media hype that comes with the Super Bowl about as much as a colonoscopy.
The answer is a combination of all 3. Admittedly, none of them are great excuses, but that’s all I’ve got, kids. So now that I’m comfortably here in the city of angels, as the great Govenator would say, “I’m Back!” (also worth noting: the powers that be over at 451 press sent me a rather grumpy email today threatening to withhold my weekly payment of twinkies and RC Cola…that got me moving, believe me!).
So for starters, I offer you the link to ESPN’s Bill Simmons coverage of Media Day, perhaps the most ridiculous day on the NFL calender. If you don’t believe me, check out this pic:

That’s right: there are at least 8 reporters interviewing Jim Sorgi, the back-up quarterback for the Colts. I’m sure they were asking riveting questions such as, “which hand do you hold the clipboard with?”, “do you ever fall asleep during the games?”, and “how much pressure does Peyton like you to use when administering the Heimlich?”
…I know, I know, I should back off of Manning now, shouldn’t I? Well, if he wins on Sunday, you bet. If not: MMM…WHAHAHAHAH! {that’s diabolical laughter}
